Peterborough makes a BLOCKBUSTER movie!

We Love Peterborough are proud to be jumping in with two feet and partnering with Lamphouse Theatre to support their 2021 project of getting us all together. It looks like it’s going to be a mad mad mad year!

Lamphouse Theatre#PeterboroughBlockbuster is a 6-month long engagement project where 300 people will work with Lamphouse Theatre to create a blockbuster movie on stage!

STAGE 1: THE PITCH (completed)

In February 2021 we asked the public of Peterborough for 1-minute movie pitches. We sifted through all those that were gladly received and a handful of these pitches were chosen to make mini-movies out of.

Here are just two examples of storylines we received from Ellie Kinsey’s and Tim Bold. They’ll definitely make you smile.

“Thanks to everyone for their ideas. “

Draw Aliens with Korp

No BLOCKBUSTER film would be complete without an alien army!

Join our drawing workshop with master doodler ‘Korp’ and have your artwork featured on our BLOCKBUSTER scenery! In this one hour workshop, on Wednesday 14th April, you’ll work with the brilliant Korp to learn how to draw an alien, which will be displayed as part of the backdrops in BLOCKBUSTER, the live on stage movie. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never drawn before or if you’re already an artist, get stuck in and create us some aliens! (12yrs +)
Korp is probably best recognised for his armies of worms. Korp was an early member of the global art movement known as Free Art Friday and in 2012 he featured on the BBC Culture Show alongside Fin DAC and My Dog Sighs. More recently you will find him painting at some of the many live street art festivals throughout Europe.
In March 2020, sparked by the global Coronavirus pandemic Korp founded the online Korp Academy to teach people how easy it is to doodle.
