Rooster & Redneck – Too Much To Handle

We were invited to go and try out Higgsy's in their new second location. Last November saw the opening of ‘The Hatch’ down on London Road at Norman Cross and has been so popular with the locals that they wanted to bring it into the centre. So their second outlet is now at Glo-golf, where it opened last week. Run by Adam and Amber, I asked why burgers? The simple answer was that Adam wanted to create something he liked eating and the idea of high quality burgers was the way forward rather than plain offerings from other outlets

Katana makes a spark!

#FIRST LOOK inside Katana Peterborough… It looks amazing with 3 Teppanyaki grill spaces for you to sit at and enjoy watching food cooked before your eyes for a fabulous experience. A downstairs bubbles bar draws you in and is where you can have cocktails before you eat, or whilst you eat from that particular menu. The space looks enormous due to a clever mirroring effect, but it's lovely and cosy with booths and tables depending on your party size. If you have something to celebrate or a large group you can use their private room ‘Sakura Suite’ which is

Dane & Becky have been working hard to get it ready and all they are waiting for now is the signage and the coffee machine. ☕️ Never been before? You book a table by the hour and choose a game to play… I actually couldn’t see any games that I recognised like that family argument causer Monopoly! They are new games which can be anything from; an easy family game to a difficult strategy game, from a solo game to a team escape game. If you need a hand to pick a game - they are experienced at giving

So I had a little walk up to the city centre to see, properly, what the inside of Las Iguanas was like and there's quite a few of you trying it out already I see. Well, what a splash of colour that is in the city centre!!! Las Iguanas Peterborough restaurant has opened today (14th November 2022) on Church Street next to Cathedral Square. As soon as you go in you are hit by colour - It’s bright all the way through. Sit down and take a selfie in the las Iguanas profile chair, there’s one in every restaurant

2023 Calendar and delicious desserts

2022-11-10T10:52:31+00:00November 9th, 2022|Events, News|

What a great evening launching our 2023 We Love Peterborough calendar. Nearly every photographer could attend which was fabulous. Our event was held in the lovely setting of Heavenly Desserts on Cowgate, my thanks go to Imran for allowing us to use his lounge as our meeting place. :-) The calendar was opened and we went through every month with the photographer telling us about their beautiful photograph, where and when it was taken or why which was interesting to hear. Some were taken purposefully and some were taken on the spot when seeing something that caught their eye.

Jump in if you are ‘Full Of Beans’

2022-10-22T14:02:20+01:00October 21st, 2022|Fun-for-all, Great For Kids, News|

I passed this the other day and wondered what it was all about as it did look strange with the coloured ramps in the window, so had to pay a visit. Meeting Charlotte (supervisor) and Josh on his first day - making a great latte by the way… Full of Beans has not been open long and Charlotte explained the concept to me. It's created for children up to 8 years old who want to play. With a ball pit, mirrors, a twisting flower, a slide, ramps, tubes and sensory lights, children can play for one and a half

Breathing new life into a 100yr old shop!

2022-10-06T13:20:46+01:00October 6th, 2022|General, News, Shopping|

Breathing new life into something over 100 years old! MD Coffee closed from the market area a fair while ago now, however, after spending weeks doing some renovation inside the old D’arcy’s jewellery shop which closed after an enormous 97 years of trading, Deborah and Masoud opened their coffee shop on Monday to the public and it looks fabulous! Deborah has kept some of the old items which used to be inside the jewellers, namely one of the jewellery cabinets, which has been carefully moved from the front to the back area and now has a display of jewellery

Farm Breakfast

Take a drive out to Newborough and you’ll find a wonderful farm shop that I never knew about until a friend told me. (Thank you Sonya) Set back from the main road, Moor Farm is a farm shop and cafe combined. Plenty of parking with a full selection of products. I spoke to owner and Farmer Judith, who had been out with the cows this morning @7am and then down to help daughter Rosie get the coffee shop ready for opening. They grow sugar beet for British Sugar, so only sell British Sugar’s sugars. They grow mustard for Coleman’s.

Pizza-borough Strikes Again!

2022-08-26T10:22:11+01:00July 4th, 2022|General, Great Food, New Restaurants, News, Summer|

What can I say? FrancoManca has opened at lunchtime today and it’s heaving. You’re obviously pizza fans…. !!! Newly opened today, we've been following their creation day by day on the corner of Cathedral Square right in the heart of the city centre. We lunched at 12 today, as it opened and grabbed a seat inside but next to the opened double doors - on a nice day like this it gives the restaurant a lovely Al-fresco feel. We tried their Bites To Start:  Aubergine Parmigiana at £5.50 and the Free range spicy lamb sausage, roasted potatoes cooked with
