It’s Time for Panto!

Christmas is definitely on its way when the Panto starts and tonight I'm visiting for the first run at The Cresset at Bretton. My first comment is that everything is highly organised. On arrival via the main doors you are reminded to put your mask on, then I used the allocated hand sanitiser station and over to get my temperature checked. (Phew! I got a green light). Into the foyer to get my tickets checked and as I hadn't pre-ordered a drink I went over to the allocated and cordoned off queue area to order what I wanted at

Clever – Ingenious – Full of Humour

Laugh? it’s a continuous roll! :-) Tonight was opening night for Lamphouse Theatre’s edition of their ‘A Christmas Carol ‘ and what a night it was....! A ‘Clever - Ingenious - Full of Humour’ rollercoaster ride of entertainment. Take my hat off to Tom Fox, the one-man Scrooge, Cratchit family, Marley, Ghosts, bystanders and all. It’s a mad-cap caper of a live stage show that’s worth the tenner to go, have a laugh (what we probably need) and keep a small theatre company going, in the process. From flying ghosts and hidden rooms to clever acting - it’s a nonstop

The Icing On the Cake…sicle!

I decided to do something creative so I signed up for a cakesicle workshop with my mum at Celebrations Peterborough It’s an independent small business based in New England, at the triangle. The shop is full of everything you need for any type of cake making whether you’re a beginner or a master cake maker. There were 4 students in total (small socially distanced classes) Soundari, Claire, Marion and myself. We all met ready for two o’clock armed with our masks and aprons and were shown upstairs to the classroom. The lovely Anne Robinson is the shop owner and experienced

What a treat today as finally I get a FIRST LOOK at the finished Coyotes Bar & Grill in town located behind the market and I have to say it’s looking gooood. . I spoke with John, a born and bred Peterboroughian, about what him and his partner Neil have planned for you all and it sounds great.   One of the first thing's you'll notice when you go in is Old Humphrey Bogart sitting proudly on the wall watching over the coffee machines and greets you when you come in, but look up and you've got a sky

What an amazing exhibition finale to the #1000Moments project. Make sure you go and see it whilst it’s on. You'll find this massive wall (designed by Paper Rhino and printed by FisherPrint) on the uppermall where BHS used to be. It's a celebration of the positivity of people in Peterborough. Those who love certain things, have had special memories of moments which make where they live great. See what people have to say about where you live and what it means to them. At the opening event on Thursday 13th February it was great to meet so many of the faces

Thursday at 8.55am and I'm waiting with a few more people to enter into John Lewis, I'm awaiting the opening of the Ori Caffe, but I can finally see inside the main upper floor doors to John Lewis's beauty area and I must say it's a hive of activity......lots of staff bustling around, radios in hand, tidying and sorting with a few last minute checks and then Ta Da! 9am and the roller goes up.... as we walk in all the staff are looking at us! Little did I know that I was actually walking into their main undressing of

What can I say, I've just been to an amazing event down at Waitrose this evening... I joined Simon Spooner (Masterchef 2018 competitor) and 23 other guests for a unique Supper Club at the Waitrose Peterborough Café. Simon presented a sumptuous menu using seasonal ingredients all from the Waitrose store perfectly paired with wines from their Wine Department. Located in the Cafe area, which had closed earlier, we were greeted with one long table, decorated simply for perfectly with orchids and fairy lights, of which to all sit together and enjoy our evening. At 6pm guests started to arrive

It Makes Me Want to Shout!

Shout all about it! Did you go to the Lulu concert at the New Theatre? It wasn't a full house but there were certainly a lot of people there. I went as I thought it would be a good pressie for my mum as Lulu was more her era than mine. And I say that because even though Lulu has lasted through the years, she's not really someone who has been in the headline of music, in the charts much or grabbed our attention. I also can't say that 'we' all know her because most of the younger than

If you don’t know where to go today...(Saturday 5th October) you must take the kids to the East of England Arena and Events Centre for the Feel The Force Day event (we have sponsored a page in their autographs & souvenirs brochure) £1 on the gate. It’s a fabulous day out with loads of characters for the kids and fanatics to pose with. You can see from the photos how good and scary some of these costumes are but you can also get some not so scary visits as you sit with Mary Poppins, have a photo with Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine,

On The Footplate of an British Icon

Have you seen what's down at Nene Valley Railway again...before those choach rides you can now get up close to the engine herself. Today we bought tickets to step on to that iconic beauty; The Flying Scotsman... Jack & Josh and the engineering team got her ready 24 hours before on a slow warm up so that we could get on today with a roaring fire in the cab. The footplate is the tiniest squeeze to get into at just 14.5” and you really cannot swing a cat in there once you get in. It’s
