Have you heard of the CP Learning Trust and their 'Building Better Opportunities – eMploY-ABILITY' project? I came across their February workshops as they posted them out to me to add as events and decided to have a little nosey at what there were doing in the way of helping the community in Peterborough.    This particular project is aimed at engaging participants, upskilling and supporting them towards employment and is delivered throughout Peterborough, Fenland and West Norfolk. The events are provided by means of funding by the European Social Fund and Community Fund of the National Lottery.

What a treat today as Nene Valley Spirits opened its doors as Peterborough’s first micro-distillery in the Nene Valley region, offering handcrafted, premium gin in small batches. Jo, Leigh, Abi and Shelley are located in the newly renovated Artisan Courtyard area at Sacrewell Farm and Country Park. A place where more small businesses will be located - a great idea. It's an extra treat today as it's Christmassy with Santa's sleigh and cottage just around the corner, a large Christmas tree in the courtyard and I was lucky enough to spy a peacock wandering around too. Anyway enough of

I decided to do something creative so I signed up for a cakesicle workshop with my mum at Celebrations Peterborough It’s an independent small business based in New England, at the triangle. The shop is full of everything you need for any type of cake making whether you’re a beginner or a master cake maker. There were 4 students in total (small socially distanced classes) Soundari, Claire, Marion and myself. We all met ready for two o’clock armed with our masks and aprons and were shown upstairs to the classroom. The lovely Anne Robinson is the shop owner and experienced

What a treat today as finally I get a FIRST LOOK at the finished Coyotes Bar & Grill in town located behind the market and I have to say it’s looking gooood. . I spoke with John, a born and bred Peterboroughian, about what him and his partner Neil have planned for you all and it sounds great.   One of the first thing's you'll notice when you go in is Old Humphrey Bogart sitting proudly on the wall watching over the coffee machines and greets you when you come in, but look up and you've got a sky

Apparently, it offers a large range of traditional goods, gifts and a selection of tempting food and drink. What can I say, I've just been to an amazing event down at Waitrose this evening... I joined Simon Spooner (Masterchef 2018 competitor) and 23 other guests for a unique Supper Club at the Waitrose Peterborough Café. Simon presented a sumptuous menu using seasonal ingredients all from the Waitrose store perfectly paired with wines from their Wine Department. Located in the Cafe area, which had closed earlier, we were greeted with one long table, decorated simply for perfectly with orchids and fairy lights, of which to all sit together and enjoy our evening. At 6pm guests started to arrive

It Makes Me Want to Shout!

Shout all about it! Did you go to the Lulu concert at the New Theatre? It wasn't a full house but there were certainly a lot of people there. I went as I thought it would be a good pressie for my mum as Lulu was more her era than mine. And I say that because even though Lulu has lasted through the years, she's not really someone who has been in the headline of music, in the charts much or grabbed our attention. I also can't say that 'we' all know her because most of the younger than

If you've never seen Avenue Q (premiered on New York's Broadway) then you're going to be in for a bit of a surprise when you see puppeteers on the stage alongside their puppets...after all you never saw them on Sesame Street, Pitkins or the Muppets.. but then again, this isn't any of them, is it! - This an ADULT take on it and that's why it's definitely NOT A CHILDREN'S SHOW!!!! 🚸 Tonight was the opening night at New Theatre Peterborough which had a good audience for a Tuesday night and the stage looks huge after its makeover by Selladoor Worldwide making room for

Already open for just about a month, Forty Two (tapas bar, cockail bar & shisha lounge) was finally the place I got to visit, eat in and try something new tonight. We were early diners as we obviously wanted to see the place and what it has to offer. The entry into the main bar area was as rewarding as those initial tempting photographs were from their website, really nice to see something so stylish for Peterborough. Plush velvet covered chairs in a bright blue along with grey the decor is extremely chic. A wonderfully long bar along the

Today I was out of the blistering wind and cosied up at Chaffeur’s Cottage (behind the Town Hall) at a Metal Peterborough workshop. What workshop? Masterclass #11 Pop-up Paper Architecture with Hilary Powell (From film and book production to performance and print Hilary Powell works with overlooked processes, materials, people and places in unexpected ways.) https://instagram.com/hilary_powell So, I’m no artist, but you don’t have to be either, to join in on any of them.
