NVR Santa Specials:
At Nene Valley Railway they started their Santa Specials this weekend Get your tickets online, step onboard and have an enjoyable few hours with Father Christmas, mince pies, treats for the kids and wine for you.
YYou might even get a glimpse of Thomas the Tank Engine! This particular departure was the 2:30 out of Wansford on 25th November, were you on it, were you waving???
Christmas Fair:
If you’re looking to get a few crafts for this year’s Christmas then why not pop down to Nene Valley Railway at Wansford?
They have their Christmas Fair – today only until 6:30pm. It’s free to enter. You may even get to see the Santa Special as a steams into the station today.
If you don’t have any transport and fancy a train ride, you can use the Winter Special train from the Peterborough station out to Wanford which for today is only £5 return ticket. Otherwise if you live in Stamford, which I wish I did so I could have had a ride…. then there is a bright red double-decker bus which will be transporting you backwards and forwards.
The fair is only a small one with craft stalls of all kinds from wooden Christmas tree ornaments, Santa sacks, reclaimed wood Christmas gifts & decorations, hot soup and chocolates, huge cupcakes from the Hayley – and yes they were yummy!, some handmade frame gifts by the Stacey and a few more. There’s also a small winter model train set for the kids to see.
If you’re on the platform area you may even see their Santa Specials arriving into or leaving the station with their mince pies, wine and more onboard and of course Santa on board to give out a few presents or too or to see him in his Grotto.
